Today is the fourth day of 28 days of daily paintings that will drop first thing each morning. Each day, I’ll tell a little bit about my story as an artist and how it makes me who I am. I hope in sharing these little pieces of my heart, you will know how much painting means to me.

When I went to college, I began with a degree in exercise science hoping to become a physical therapist. But after a strength training class that I couldn’t take pass/fail…one where I realized that I didn’t want to lift heavy things for my job, I began to look into the possibility of majoring in art. I knew that it would be difficult, but I thought if I just picked a direction that was marketable, I would be okay. I absolutely LOVED photography, so I dove into as many of those classes as I could take. I started taking pictures for friends and family and became a “painter of light.”
