Day 08 of “My Heart”

Today is the eighth day of 28 days of daily paintings that will drop first thing each morning. Each day, I’ll tell a little bit about my story as an artist and how it makes me who I am. I hope in sharing these little pieces of my heart, you will know how much painting means to me.

Next part of the story is actually hugely embarrassing. I was so confident in this single painting that I had created, I chose to do something very ridiculous. I called a gallery owner. Yes, I know. Very stupid. I called him and asked him if I could display in his gallery. He was so gracious with me. He told me that I needed to come up with around 20 pieces. I worked my rear off that year and painted so many portraits…while pregnant with my fourth. I had a pop-up and invited tons of people I knew. Lots of people showed up… and purchased lots of art! I couldn’t believe it. This was a defining moment with my art. I will forever be grateful to @tannerlawley for his leap of faith on me.
